BUTLER COMMUNITY CENTRE

 

ALL WEATHER PITCHES

We have 1 ten a side or 2 five aside pitches available for use 6 days a week.

SPORTS HALL

Our Sports Hall is used 6 days a week for the following:

Soccer, Basketball, Badminton, Indoor Bowls, Children’s Parties, Fitness Classes and Martial Arts.

ROOMS (Meetings & Activities)

Our Rooms provide a base within the community to facilitate local delivery of a wide range of Social, Educational and Medical services and activities to the community.

PLAYGROUND

On behalf of Waterford Council, staff from the Butler Community Centre open and close the playground and look after the general cleaning, grass cutting, litter etc. Adult supervision is required for access.

INDOOR BOWLING

Every Monday morning (except Bank Holiday’s) Indoor Bowling is held here at the

Butler Community Centre from 10.00a.m. to 12.00p.m.

SENIOR CITIZENS; WHIST

Whist is played Tuesday nights from 8p.m. to 10.00p.m.

PRAYER GROUP

Prayer Group meets every Friday from 5.30p.m. to 7.00p.m.

ACTIVE RETIREMENT ASSOCIATION

The above group meet every Monday 3.00p.m. to 5.00p.m.

COMMUNITY SERVICE FACILITATION

 

BUTLER COMMUNITY CENTRE PLAYSCHOOL

The playschool is run by Rena Walsh, Monday to Friday from 9.15a.m. to 12.00p.m. during primary school term. The children have great fun having full use of the centres activities – Sports Hall, Playground, Outdoor Pitches.

CHILDREN’S CLINIC

The H.S.E. use the facilities of the Centre for a children’s (0 – 4 years) drop in clinic on Tuesdays 1:30p.m. – 3:30p.m. each week of the year.

WELL BABY CLINIC

H.S.E. use the facilities of the Centre for a baby clinic on every Wednesday 2.00p.m. to 4.00p.m.

SACRED HEART COMMUNITY ACTION GROUP

The above group consists of representatives from the various organisations in the parish and organize and run various events for the community during the year.


WYTEC  (Waterford Youth Training & Education)

The above group use the Main Sports Hall and Outdoor Pitches for P.E. every Monday 2.00p.m. to 3.00p.m.

Rehab care use our Sports Hall and All-Weather Pitches for games, exercise and bowles Tuesdays 11a.m to 12.00p.m. and Thursdays 1.00p.m. to 2.00p.m.

LADYBIRDS (Girl Guides)

The Ladybirds meet here every Saturday from 12.00p.m. to 1.00p.m.

The Brownies meet here every Thursday night from 6.30p.m. to 8.30p.m.

DE LA SALLE HURLING & FOOTBALL CLUB

This Club use our Sports Hall for indoor Hurling on Saturday’s, 11.00a.m. to 2.00p.m. for all age groups November through to March.

FOROIGE YOUTH CLUB

Foroige meet here every Thursday night for Boys and Girls 10 to 18 years.

Juniors meet from  7.00p.m. to 8.00p.m.

SHY PROJECT (Waterford & South Tipperary Community Youth Service)

From time to time Shy Project will use our Sports Hall and All Weather Pitches for Soccer and also run Soccer Blitzes

The Sway Project use our Sports Hall and All Weather Pitches for sporting activities.

GUIDE DOGS

The Guide Dogs will use our facility intermittently for puppy training.

 

COMERAGH ACTIVE RETIREMENT

Sections of this Active Retirement Group regularly use our facilities; our Sports Hall on Friday morning 11.00a.m. to 1.00p.m. for indoor bowls, our rooms for Yoga classes on Monday mornings 11.00a.m. to 12.00p.m. and committee meetings from time to time.

RETIRED TEACHERS ASSOCIATION

Retired Teachers play Badminton every Wednesday morning from 11.00 – 12.00p.m.

 

DE LA SALLE CAMOIGE CLUB

This Club use our Sports Hall for indoor Hurling on Wednesday’s, 6.00p.m. to 8.00p.m. for all age groups October through to March.

ERIN’S OWN LADIES FOOTBALL CLUB

This Club use the all-weather pitch as part of their winter training program.

 

FILIPINO-IRISH BASKETBALL GROUP

This Group use the sports hall every Saturday morning for basketball training.

TROY DANCING SCHOOL

Muriel Baldwin holds her Irish Dancing Classes on Tuesdays and Fridays  6.00p.m. to 8.00p.m.

ZUMBA / BOKWA CLASSES

This new exercise Classes in dance are held here on a Wednesday night 8.00p.m. to 9.00p.m. and Thursday night 8.00p.m. to 9.00p.m. in Sports Hall.

This activity takes place Thursday night from 8.00p.m. to 9.30p.m.

KRAV MAGA

Krav Maga is a self defence system that anyone can learn and use, regardless of size, fitness level or strength. Classes for adults are held here on a Monday night’s 8.00p.m. to 9.00p.m.

GYMBOREE WATERFORD, SOUTH KILKENNY & NEW ROSS

This Group meet in the Centre every Wednesday morning from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m..Gymboree PlayandMusic prepares your child for life with a solid foundation focussing on confidence, creativity and making new friends and we are committed to giving our absolute best to the local community.

 

 

 

CHILDREN’S BIRTHDAY PARTIES

 

The Centre is available to rent for children’s birthday parties and can include room and hall packages  for football/activity parties or room only parties.  Contact the Centre for terms and conditions on private party hosting.

 

Children’s Birthday Party hosts also provide party services in the Centre.  To engage a Party Host; contact the host directly and they will make arrangements with the Centre.

FIREFLY PARTY

FireFly Parties host themed parties such as Princess & Pirate, Pamper Parties, Build a Bear parties etc. for your Children’s entertainment.
